Hockey federation rendered headless : Lahore: The country was in a bit of confusion in the Pakistani hockey world on Thursday, after it was announced that the Pakistan Sports Board de-notified three important office bearers of the Pakistan Hockey Federation which includes the president, who is former Brig Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, for not holding elections following their term had ended in May.
The governing body of hockey shared an official document that showed it was given instructions to do so by the PSB to not hold polls until the updated National Sports Policy was implemented.

“The time-frame for office bearers expired on 14-5-2022 . No election notice or schedule has been issued by the PHF despite a gap of over two months. This is in breach of the national sports policy-2005. With this in mind that the PSB will not be able to inform all office-bearers upon the expiration of their terms immediately,” it said.
PHF Secretary Asif Bajwa didn’t provide any response, but he did share the Dawn the letter that was issued by PSB’s Director of for training in the year 2000, requesting all national federations of sports not to hold elections until the time of implementation of the updated National Sports Policy 2020.
