The entire Roxas Avenue was temporarily closed for a few hours during the event, in which the male and female attendees separately occupied the adjacent roads.
During the event, Muslims held a prayer to the almighty Allah and listened to the preaching of an Imam who reminded them to value the teachings of Islam.
Mohammad Al Khulaqi, President of the Mercy Islamic Foundation, expressed his gratitude, stating that the entire holy month of Ramadan, as well as Eid’l Fitr, was conducted in peace. He prayed for peace and progress in Davao and the whole Philippines.
Al Khulaqi also thanked the city government for its assistance during Ramadan. The city government said it provided food packs to the Muslim for their Iftar or fast-breaking meal in the evening.
/”All the Muslim during the Ramadan time, lahat, they are fasting. And this Eid, they break their fast that they will long to continue their fasting next year. This is a celebration that Allah saved them until today. It’s their celebration to complete the month of Ramadan safe and they are very happy that almighty Allah make it easy for them. And this is the way to thank almighty God that we came here to thank him that he saved us during the month of Ramadan and make fasting for us easy,/” he said.
