A volcano in Iceland that erupted last month for the fourth time since December continues to spew smoke and bright orange lava. Icelandic Civil Protection released a video on Monday (April 8) showing the volcano crater and the active lava field to the south of the crater. It said the lava did not spread much and that there was still an active lava flow to the south. Man-made barriers have been successful in steering the lava away from infrastructure including the Svartsengi geothermal power plant and Grindavik, a fishing town of some 4,000 residents. According to the Icelandic met office, it was difficult to predict when the eruption would end, saying it could continue for a longer time with a constant flow of lava, or stop in the near future.
