Thousands of people sought shelter in converted classrooms and a multi-purpose hall in India’s Gandhidham, western Gujarat state, after being relocated from their homes in Kandla Port ahead of cyclonic storm Biparjoy. Classified as a very severe cyclonic storm, Biparjoy is expected to make landfall around Thursday evening, June 15 between Mandvi in India’s Gujarat province and Karachi in southern Pakistan.
