Inmates in at least 16 Venezuelan prisons are on hunger strike to protest prison conditions and delays in reviewing their trials, two non-governmental organisations (NGOs) said in social media posts on Thursday (June 13). Relatives of the prisoners protested outside the courthouse in Caracas, calling for the prisoners’ demands to be met and for prison conditions to be improved.
