On The Scene: According to a new report from an international team of 29 experts, the world has now crossed six of nine /”planetary boundaries/” or the safe limits for human life in areas like the integrity of the biosphere, climate change, and the use and availability of freshwater due to human impact. The scientists sounded the alarm about increasing deforestation, the excessive use of biomass, increased extinction threats, and the proliferation of manmade products like plastic, genetically modified organisms, and synthetic chemicals.
