“Sunny” is the brand-new, youthful movie ensemble from Viva Films that features both rising stars of 2024 as well as the proven idols of Pinoy cinema. But beyond the glitter of the stars that are featured in this new coming-of-age film are pop classics that defined the 90’s. Starting with the all-familiar chorus of Prettier Than Pink’s “Cool Ka Lang.” Smartly inserted into one of the key scenes in the movie is Donna Cruz’s “Kapag Tumibok Ang Puso.” Then there’s the brand new recording of the Eraserheads classic ballad “With A Smile” rendered here by the sublime performance of Shanne Dandan.
