He said that while this will affect investor decisions in the short term, this will help make the Philippines an important, sustainable investment destination in the long run.
The Philippine Senate in February passed on third reading a bill seeking a P100 daily minimum wage increase for employees and workers in the private sector.
But various business groups have since hit the proposal, saying it will lead to job losses and investors pulling out of the country.
