Heavy rain struck major rivers, waterways and reservoirs in China’s Guangdong province on Sunday (April 21), triggering floods and a landslide which forced the government to enact emergency response plans to protect more than 127 million people. Aerial footage released by broadcaster CCTV over Qingyuan showed villages and farmland inundated with water as well as a landslide cutting off villages in Shaoguan.
