Naglabas ng pahayag ang Environment Department ngayong Earth Day na bawasan na ang paggamit ng single-use plastics. Pero buwelta ng isang grupo, gumawa muna dapat ng aksyon ang ahensya para mapanindigan ito.

Sinabi rin ni Atty. Liza Osorio, Legal and Policy Director ng Oceana Philippines, na wala pa ring nailalabas ang DENR na listahan ng non-environmentally acceptable products sa ilalim ng RA 9003 o ang Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.
