The U.S. State Department on Tuesday (May 7) said Israel’s operation in Rafah appears to be /”limited/”. Earlier in the day, White House national security adviser John Kirby reported that Israel told the United States its operation in Rafah was designed to prevent weapons and funds from being smuggled into Gaza.
